One of the great things about Utrecht is that the Domtoren and the Domplein aren't just bits of history roped off, only to look and not touch. Instead, they play a vital part in the daily cultural life of the city. There's always something going on, and this Friday, September 23, one of the coolest events is taking place. VJ op de Dom is the third edition of this visual dance party right in the heart of the old city center. Thousands of dancers will be filling the Domplein as visual artists and DJs create a fantastic world of sight and sound.

The party starts at 21:30, with Born Digital's presentation of their Hybrid project. Following that will be BILDERRAUS, a mix of audio/visual art from multiple artists. Then there's an animated film from Japan, and then trance and dance from various DJs, actors and musicians, such as Stellar om Source, Ola Vasiljeva, DJ Egbert-Jan Weeber and MC Tygo Gernandt. The events at the Domplein go until 1 a.m., but after that the party moves to Winkel van Sinkel where Boemklatsch finishes the night off in style.
