To be honest, it looks like the weather is going to interfere with any outdoor plans this weekend. So if you were hoping to visit the Maliebaanfestival that I mentioned last week, you might want to go today or hope for better weather in the early part of next week. De Parade, the travelling theater festival opens today in Utrecht at Moreelspark. Fortunately, it runs through July 31, so the weather is bound to clear up before the end of the festival.
If you don't want to take your chances with the weather, head to EKKO (Bemuurde Weerd WZ 3) tonight, July 15, for a hardcore/postpunk show by Rosetta. Tickets are €9 and the doors open at 20:00, with the show starting at 20:45.
Finally, on Sunday, July 17, there's the perfect event for madness-inducing weather: a showing of two of Jack Nicholson's great films at 't Hoogt. At 14:00 is a viewing of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. Then at 16:30 is the classic The Shining. Tickets are €8 (various discounts available). The website has more information on all dates and times for other showings of the films.
