Everyone who spends any time in Amsterdam probably ends up having pizza. This is likely to be the result of being hungry and liking the convenience of so many pizza places to choose from. It could also be because the city is home to so many fine Italian eateries from the highest quality to the poorest.
This year, as they have for the past few years, there is one pizzeria that continues to be one of the busiest and beloved right in the heart of the Jordaan. Da Portare Via isn't fancy, it isn't big, it isn't even expensive, but mark my words... it is delicious. On any given summer night there are people sitting in the window, outside, on the street along the canal or even in their boats enjoying a fresh pizza.
Da Portare Via has three locations, but my personal favorite is on the Leliegracht 34. You'll know your getting near the restaurant, your nose will tell you.
