Summer is oddly here, and the seasonal ice-cream shops are popping up all over the place. Leiden is no exception. Case in point: Soetenso, located at Kort Galgewater 1, right in the heart of the city and just a few minutes from the central station.

Not only is their ice cream to die for (I had a chocolate cone just the other day) but the store itself smells absolutely heavenly. I think it has something to do with the chocolate fountain just inside the door. I haven't seen one of those since Brussels! You can get ice-cream coffee, cakes and other sweets at this location. They also offer workshops, if you've ever wanted to learn how to make bonbons.
