There are a many fine eateries in Amsterdam that offer Christmas dinner or more commonly, second Christmas Day dinner. Yes that is correct, there is a second day here in the Netherlands, you might know it as boxing day. For those who don't feel like cooking, or wish to be out with other people who may or may not be friends, Christmas dinners at your local restaurant are a time honored tradition.

My most favorite place for second Christmas day dinner is the Noorderlicht Café, which offers a 5 course meal made by their talented kitchen staff, and entertainment. Last year during dinner, there was singing, dancing, and comedy by an vaudeville-esque performance group. Above all even if there hadn't been entertainment, I fondly remember chatting and getting to know complete strangers sitting around the table. Parents, Grandparents, Children of all ages, they are all in attendance at such a dinner which makes for the best kind of atmosphere.

Of course I didn't want to just recommend one dinner, though it is the one I know best. So I will also recommend the most loved show in town - Boom Chicago, which offers Christmas Dinner on both days, 4 courses and some of the funniest entertainers Amsterdam has to offer.
