If you don't feel like making the trip to Germany for the full Christmas market experience, you can still experience a smaller version here in Utrecht this Sunday at the Twijnstraat Christmas Market. Sunday, December 12, from 12-18:00, you can shop along Utrecht's oldest shopping street as stalls line the street, featuring handmade goods, local foods, exotic decorations and everything in between. Lots of gluhwein and hot chocolate are also on offer to keep you warm as you pick up a few last-minute Christmas ideas, and there are musical performances throughout the day. I also recommend checking out some of the charming smaller alleyways that lead down to the canal. It's a picturesque experience, whether you're in the crowds or away from them.
