Summer might be over, but the festivals are still going on. On November 8, at the Paper Dome in Utrecht, the Close Watch Festival will be taking place, filling the gap in the no-man's-land between the old and new festival seasons.
This combination of music, theater, film and visual arts has something for just about everyone. A variety of musical styles will be represented, including DJs, bluegrass, rock, pop, classical, and jazz. Some of the artists featured are: Madensuyu, Han Bennink and Mary Oliver, The Stilettos, The Violent Years, and Jochen Arbeit and Admiral Freebee. The music will be offered up on two stages, and there will also be special Bathroom Session recordings with bands recording acoustic live sets in a bathroom, which will then be streamed at other locations at the festival. Artist/musician Uli Kurner will create a special installation for the event.
Along with the music and interactive performances on offer, such as an opportunity to find out what kind of tosti you'd be, there will also be a selection of snacks and organic beverages, warm and cold, including organic beer from De Leckere Brewery, as well as Bionade, an organic, refreshing, non-alcoholic beverage.
Tickets are limited, so you may want to purchase early. They are available through Plato (Voorstraat 35), and VVV Utrecht (Domplein 9). Tickets are €20 in advance and €22.50 at the door. The Close Watch Festival takes place November 8, from 2:30 p.m. - 11 p.m., at the Paper Dome, Hogeweide 3A in Utrecht. The event's website is www.closewatchfestival.nl/.
