There, the cantatas of Friedrich Wilhelm Zachow will be performed by Capella Frisiae and Accademia Amsterdam. Who is Zachow and what's so controversial about a choral cantata performance? Well, if you're not familiar with Zachow (1663-1712), you might be more familiar with his most famous student, Georg Friedrich Handel, composer of the infamous Messiah. The Thursday concert will serve to revive the festive cantatas by the Baroque composer, who some think has been unfairly forgotten in the shadow of his famous pupil.
