Stadhuisplein has opened the ice skating ring this year. There are many cafes surrounding the ring if you need something warm to drink, such as hot-chocolate, tea, coffee, and more.

I have to say that this place is very ideal for skating, with the city hall in the background. The center of Rotterdam is nicely decorated, and the Nationale Nederland even sparkles in the evening, very near Stadhuisplein. Thursday I am going to throw on some ice skates myself and give it a go around the ring.
