I had the great pleasure of seeing folk singer Tom Brosseau play the klein zaal at Paradiso. As the name indicates, the room upstairs in paradiso is modest, but in my opinion, just right for really seeing and hearing your favorite musicians. Also it never fails, in the klein zaal after the performance, the musicians always come out and chat with people in the audience after the show. Its a great way to not only see a show but get to know the artist a bit, maybe over a drink.

Tom was excellent. The crowd was small, but it did not phase him one bit. For a modest musician from North Dakota, he puts on a world class show that captures and holds everyone's attention.

And as a bonus for me, he invited me to come up and take photos of him on stage during a song. No big deal to you, but as a big Tom Brosseau fan, I was nervous and very happy to do so. Here, try a video clip:
