Another treat on the Zeedijk: Eat Mode. The food is described as fusion/Japanese, and it is definitely worth checking out. I’ve been to this place a number of times and am always happy with the food and the service. It was smoke free long before it had to be, and its clean wooden benches and tidy interior (check out the website for a 360 degree view) are a contrast to the often garbage-filled Zeedijk.

They’ve been around since July 2002. Food is cheap and fast, and the portions are huge. Usually a meal feeds me into the next day. I highly recommend the Japanese style curry with vegetables and white rice. Check it out at Zeedijk 105-107.
