One of the best places to go to get into the more current scene of Amsterdam is the Overtoom squat OT 301. I've written about this place before - its great. Biking out a decent way past Vondelpark (if you're on the east side), sneaking in quietly so as to not disturb the neighbors, then partying to great music (usually) the night through, something rare in Amsterdam.
