Hmm, so you've come to Amsterdam and you know, rain or shine, that you have to take a canal cruise. And trust me this is not just for older people- everybody who is here on holiday has to do this. Which one do you choose? Everyone asks me this- which is the best?

Here is a tip: while the Holland Cruise from Centraal may be the fanciest, the others along Damrak are also more than fine. So, how to choose? Keep on walking. If your canal cruise is the first activity you embark on (after the Grasshopper, most likely) then the cheapest by about 2 euros is the final one down the Damrak, farthest from Centraal and towards Dam Square. In fact there is very little difference between them that I personally have experienced, and I have taken 3 so far.

Afterwards, what to do with those 2 euros you've saved? Oh, so many possibilities! Pickled herring sandwich, kebab, or falafel?
